How a Kela-reimbursed taxi journey is booked

A Kela-reimbursed taxi journey must be booked through the regional ordering number of a dispatch centre contracted with Kela. Only a journey booked this way can be directly reimbursed, so that you pay just the excess.

If you book a taxi directly from a driver or another number, it is an ordinary taxi journey: you pay it in full and receive no direct reimbursement. Claiming afterwards from Kela is only possible in limited situations.

Booking usually requires your personal identity code, pickup address, place of treatment and the time treatment begins. Book in good time, preferably the day before at the latest.

Note that Kela's contracted partners change by region as contracts are retendered. Always check the current ordering number for your own region on Kela's own pages before travelling.
